Banner install and removal – Small teams responsible for the installation and removal of publicity banners at various locations across the city and at Max Bell Arena. A vehicle may be required.
Consignment – Type or scan customer information and consigned items, check inventory, and place consigned items on the sales floor.
Inventory Unloading / Racking – Place consigned items on the sales floor after they are consigned. Some lifting is required.
Appraisal – Check that consigned equipment meets minimum standards and assist public consignors in selecting selling prices.
Sales – Assist public in selecting equipment & clothing suitable for their needs.
Cashier – Operate cash tills, check items against inventory database, process payment transactions.
Ticket Wicket – Sell admittance tickets and process payment transactions at the main door. Ticket sales begin 1 hour prior to doors opening.
Cheque Disbursement – Provide cheques and final report of items sold/unsold to the public consignor for pickup.
Reclaim/Inventory Control – Retrieve and sort unsold gear for pickup by the consignor. Some lifting is required.
Safety – Control of vehicle and pedestrian traffic, loss management, building access, and assist with any emergency situations (such as first aid, evacuation, etc.) that may arise.
Movers and Shakers – “all the other necessary jobs” – A floater position to pitch in and help when and where needed. May involve lifting.
Public Relations – Set up signs & displays. Conduct interviews for statistical purposes.
Information Technology – System setup and operation of our network, computer stations, and point of sale system.
Move In/Move Out – Load Ski Sale equipment, trailers and vans prior to sale, setup all equipment and sales areas at Max Bell Arena, load out Ski Sale equipment, trailers and vans Sunday night post-Sale and return items to storage.
Food – Assist caterer with the set up of the volunteer break room and ensure snacks and drinks are available for all volunteers.
